Michael C. Edwards, MD, FACS, is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Las Vegas, Nevada, renowned for his expertise in primary and revision breast surgery. With over 29 years of experience, Dr. Edwards combines surgical precision with a keen aesthetic sense, earning him a reputation for excellence in the field as a clinician and as an educator.

Dr. Edwards began his medical career in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1984 to 2003 attaining the rank of LtCol. During his service, he earned his medical degree from the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed general surgery residency at David Grant Medical Center in California, followed by a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in Texas. His military tenure included roles as chief of surgery, chief of plastic surgery, and chief of the medical staff, and he served a tour in Kuwait supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2003, Dr. Edwards transitioned to solo private practice and then became a partner at Plastic Surgery Vegas in 2013. Dr. Edwards cares for patients from around the world and his practice focuses on all aspects of breast surgery, particularly complex revision procedures.

Dr. Edwards has held numerous leadership positions in professional organizations. He served as president of The Aesthetic Society (formerly the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) from 2014 to 2015, President of the Clark County Medical Society and the Las Vegas Plastic Surgery Society and has been involved in numerous committees focused on ethics and patient safety. Additionally, he was appointed by the Governor to the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners and served a 4-year term.

He has been invited to lecture nationally and internationally to fellow plastic surgeons about primary and complex breast revision surgery, practice management and patient safety. As a full professor in the Dept. of Plastic Surgery at UNLV SOM in Las Vegas Dr. Edwards teaches plastic surgery residents and hosts visiting surgeons to view surgical procedures and techniques.

Throughout his career, Dr. Edwards has contributed to the field through publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. His commitment to excellence and patient care has made him a trusted name in plastic surgery.
